Tyler Roope
PGA of Canada Class “A” Teaching Professional
Tyler recently moved to Parksville from Langley Golf Academy in the spring of 2025. Having developed a junior program that saw over 1500 kids a year, Tyler is excited to introduce a top of the line junior program to Morningstar Golf Club and the Oceanside community. Tyler is an ambassador of Discover Golf, a product and philosophy making golf accessible and engaging for kids, fostering a love for the game through play and exploration. Tyler has developed many competitve juniors as well, with over 30 regional/provincial tournament wins and multiple trips to World Junior Championships and Notah Begay National Championships. Tyler has also developed collegiate golfers who went on to win multiple collegiate tournaments as well as local professionals who won on their respected mini tours.
However, as much as Tyler enjoys teaching our youth, there is also nothing better than seeing his adult students shoot their lowest score or gain 5-7mph of clubhead speed. Through his thirst for knowledge and exteneded amount of education, Tyler is confident he can help you achieve your golfing goals.

Aidan Goodfellow
PGA of Canada Apprentice Professional
Aidan’s experience in the golf industry provides him with a diverse and impactful approach to the game. Growing up in the Parksville area, Aidan has the background to effectively communicate, relate and encourage members of this community to deepen their love for the game. Throughout his 5-year tenure on Simon Fraser Universitys golf team, his skill and passion for the game grew immensely which led him to the beginning of his professional golf career. This has been highlighted by competing on the PGA Tour Canada and competing in Q-schools and various tours internationally. His passion for the game only grew stronger during this time, which has led him to teaching the game and working in the industry he cares so deeply for.
Derrick Hawes
PGA of Canada “A” Professional
Derrick is originally from England and has, over his career, been a Golf Professional in Bermuda, at Elm Ridge in Montreal at Inglewood G&CC in Calgary, Valley Ridge Golf Academy, Radium Hot Springs, Waterton Lakes and teaching and club fitting at GOLFTEC in Calgary. Derrick’s boundless passion for the game has always been his primary motivator for teaching all golfers, and he looks forward to continuing doing so at Morningstar Golf Club.
