We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper – Office Manager who will be a key member of our leadership team while managing the day-to-day accounts receivable and payables, and payroll. Our Bookkeeper – Office Manager reports to the General Manager communicating and providing information to senior management, Morningstar employees, and the general public (e.g. vendors, club members).
Our Bookkeeper – Office Manager typically works a regular Monday to Friday schedule but may be required to work outside that time including the occasional weekend day.
Our Bookkeeper – Office Manager will be responsible for:
- Tracking and managing financial data, entering financial transactions into various databases, notifying upper management of any accounting errors, and organizing financial reports
- Ensuring all financial actions comply with local legal requirements
- Administering employee payroll, keeping detailed and accurate employee records, and effectively managing both digital and physical files
- Reconciling daily sales and training staff on the use of POS system and on effective start- and end-of-day procedures
- Preparing all necessary bank statements and working with senior management to reconcile monthly statements
- Posting club membership dues on a monthly basis and responding to member account inquiries
- Monitoring and ordering office supplies needed or requested by all Department Managers ensuring supply levels are appropriately maintained
- Attending weekly Morningstar leadership meetings to assist the team in setting and meeting its annual and monthly strategic goals
Our Bookkeeper – Office Manager will:
- Be very detail-oriented and accurate having a strong financial literacy, natural organizational skills, and good data entry skills
- Have a good familiarity with the general principles of accounting and a strong understanding of math and numbers
- Have excellent time management skills able to work on multiple projects while adhering to tight timelines
- Have great interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively communicate with other employees, club membership, and the general public
- Have a sincere desire to assist in the creation of an excellent Morningstar guest or employee experience
Our Bookkeeper – Office Manager will have the following qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience using Quickbooks including payroll, ROEs, and T4 records
- Excellent facility with Office 365 especially MS Word and Excel
- Familiarity with Lightspeed POS would be an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Compensation and Benefits
- Starting at $23/hr – Commensurate with experience and qualifications
