Tyler Roope
PGA of Canada Class “A” Teaching Professional
Tyler Roope is a PGA of Canada Class “A” Teaching Professional and one of British Columbia’s most respected leaders in golf instruction and junior golf development. In spring 2025, he joined Morningstar Golf Club after leading and developing adult and junior golf programs that welcomed over 1,500 young golfers annually. Tyler brings an innovative, education-based coaching approach that aligns with the values of human learning, movement and skill acquisition.
A proud ambassador of Discover Golf, Tyler incorporates cutting-edge learning methods that make the game engaging and accessible for children through guided play, problem-solving, and exploration. His philosophy emphasizes long-term athletic development and individual learning pathways, allowing students to thrive at every stage of their golf journey. Tyler has developed numerous competitive junior golfers, coaching students to over 30 regional and provincial championship wins, multiple World Junior and National Championship appearances, and several collegiate golf scholarships. Many of his former students have gone on to win at the collegiate level and compete successfully on professional mini-tours.
Tyler is also an experienced program leader and mentor. He has hired and trained instructional teams, designed coach development plans, and led large-scale junior golf initiatives. Tyler is committed to empowering all golfers. His mission is to help each student realize their full potential—on and off the course.

Aidan Goodfellow
PGA of Canada Apprentice Professional
Aidan’s experience in the golf industry provides him with a diverse and impactful approach to the game. Growing up in the Parksville area, Aidan has the background to effectively communicate, relate and encourage members of this community to deepen their love for the game. Throughout his 5-year tenure on Simon Fraser Universitys golf team, his skill and passion for the game grew immensely which led him to the beginning of his professional golf career. This has been highlighted by competing on the PGA Tour Canada and competing in Q-schools and various tours internationally. His passion for the game only grew stronger during this time, which has led him to teaching the game and working in the industry he cares so deeply for.
Derrick Hawes
PGA of Canada “A” Professional
Derrick is originally from England and has, over his career, been a Golf Professional in Bermuda, at Elm Ridge in Montreal at Inglewood G&CC in Calgary, Valley Ridge Golf Academy, Radium Hot Springs, Waterton Lakes and teaching and club fitting at GOLFTEC in Calgary. Derrick’s boundless passion for the game has always been his primary motivator for teaching all golfers, and he looks forward to continuing doing so at Morningstar Golf Club.
