Program Overview
Welcome to the home of junior golf in the Oceanside community. Our Junior Programs are created around a unique approach to introducing kids to the game and runs year-round, starting at age 4, going all the way to the collegiate level. We aim to provide the highest level of instruction, resources and training to our programs. With a three-tiered junior program, we make sure to cover all the bases for our juniors. At Morningstar, we take pride in our programs and creating a home for junior golfers.
Three tier junior program
Discover
A play based, child wellness focused introduction to “golf.” We create environments that allow kids to freely experience play and express themselves. Through the play of games and physical literacy activities, kids will learn movement fundamentals, motor skills and applied golf skills. The core of this level is to create experiences and environments that compel children to explore and assert their agency over their immediate surroundings. Play matters. Emotion matters.
Play
This level is for juniors who are interested in the game and want to develop their golf skills further and play more golf. Weekly, our juniors will be taught more golf-specific skills while also reinforcing fundamental movement skills. They will then take their skills to the golf course on separately offered “Play Days” where juniors will have a chance to showcase their skills and achieve their goal score from their designated yardage. Once they do, juniors can graduate to a further yardage away.
Compete
This category is for any age that can shoot 40 for 9 holes from their tournament age length and is interested in playing competitive golf. Classes run weekly and are two hours. These classes will have an hour of technical instruction and an hour of skill development. The focus for our coaches is to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the juniors golf skills and have a plan developed for each individual on how they will attack it. We help juniors prepare for tournament golf and instil confidence in themselves and their abilities to apply them in a competitve setting.

- Four 60-minute group coaching sessions in groups of 4
- Weekly on-course golf events, promoting our juniors to experience the golf course
- Group classes ages 8-16

This is a YEARLY registration with MONTHLY FEES of – $299
Includes:
- Weekly TWO hour group coaching sessions in groups of 4
- Year round coaching with the use of our indoor facility and Trackman Technology

Three Key Parts Of Our Program

Lets redfine “golf.” Maybe “golf” should involve catching catapillers while playing some of our favorite tunes. Or involve the intensity of shattering another teams Tiki Totem to the ground. Our main goal is to have our introductory kids feel free to immerse themselves in a world of play while we introduce movement and skill aquasition within these enviroments. Our philosophy and Discover Golf games help develop a love for this version of “golf.” This is what we call the Hook.

Play the game
So now that we have set the hook, it’s time to introduce what more golf has to offer. We take the skills our juniors have developed in Discover classes (or juniors who have already been immersed in golf) and broaden those skills so that they can be applied to the golf course. We also create the opportunity of playing the golf course from sets of tees that are suitable for an introductory junior. Kids can then progress further and further back the more their skills develop. This eases the junior into the golfing world, making it more managable and enjoyable for all.

We leave no stone unturned, making sure our competitve golfers are set up with the greatest opportunity to succeed on and off the golf course. Being apart of the journey of someones dream is a privledge that we do not take lightly.
