The Golf Academy at Morningstar has a full compliment of facilities, offering everything an aspiring golfer needs to improve. The academy utilizes a grass driving range, expansive short game areas and an indoor Trackman studio for year-round improvement. When you add Morningstar’s Furber designed golf course for our on-course coaching and industry leading learning technology, including Trackman, our academy instructors have everything needed to take your game to wherever you want it to go!

Trackman Studio

Our indoor Trackman Studio provides a great learning, practice and playing environment 12 months of the year. Driven by industry leading Trackman launch monitor technology, our coaches have the ability to capture over 25 golf club and ball data points and video so they know exactly what to focus on during sessions. They find the root cause of the ball flight problem and give our students one key thing to work on.

 

The studio is also a great environment for your next club fitting!

 

In addition to being a big part of coaching sessions, our students can also use the studio for practice, getting exact feedback after each shot.

 

The studio also serves as the location of our Indoor Winter League and virtual golf.  Trackman has over 130 golf courses available form all over the world. Not to name drop but St. Andrews, Bethpage Black and PGA West are just a couple of the courses you can play in the comfort of the studio.

Coaching and Practice

Through the use of Trackman, our coaches have the ability to capture over 25 golf club and ball data points and video so they know exactly what to focus on during sessions. They find the root cause of your ball flight problem and give you that one, most important, key thing to work on.

 

We think of the technology like an MRI machine. The patient doesn’t have to know how the machine works, they just need the machine to diagnose their problem and the doctor tells them what to do. Trackman gives our coaches the ability to make very accurate decisions on the best way to help you with your swing.

 

The image shows a few of the club and ball data points that Trackman measures. If you’re a golf geek, you’ll love this stuff.  If you’re not, leave the data to our coaches and they will give you the simple action items.

 

 

In addition to being a big part of coaching sessions, our students can also use the studio for practice, getting exact feedback after each shot. Once they and their coach have zeroed in on the most important thing to work on, our students know exactly what feedback they are looking for and practicing in the studio, makes practice very efficient. Efficient practice leads to the fastest possible improvement and who doesn’t want that?

 

The studio is available for practice either as part of an improvement program or by booking it by the hour at the rate of $40/hour ($35/hour for Morningstar Members).

The Indoor League

The Indoor League at Morningstar is a great way to keep you game sharp in the colder wetter months. We start November 15th 2024 and run 7 events through the winter until the end of March 2025, playing a different course and tournament every 2 weeks, then we have an outdoor final event in April. Teams can play multiple times per event just use the best score or individuals can bring multiple teams to play. Each event is it’s own separate tournament and prizes are paid out at the end of every 2 week event. Cost is just $45 per player.

1st indoor Event – November 15th to 30th is a Best 2 net format at Royal Montreal (Hosts of the 2024 President’s Cup).

2nd Event – December 1st to 15th is a four person net scramble played at the Albany Golf club in the Bahamas. 

3rd Event – January 2nd to 15th is a Count 1, 2, 3 format at the beautiful Hualalai Golf Club in Kona Hawaii.

4th Event – January 16th to 31st is a 1 best net and 1 best gross format at the PGA West Nicklaus course

5th Event – February 1st to 14th is a 2 best net format at the Riyadh Golf Club in Saudi Arabia

6th Event – February 15th to 29th is a 4 person net scramble format at Barnbougle Dunes in Tasmania

7Th Event – March 1st to 15th is a Count net 1, 2, 3 at the famous Hong Kong Golf Club

Virtual Golf

If the Indoor League isn’t your style, you and your friends can enjoy some Virtual golf on one of Trackman’s over 130 courses. The studio is available to reserve in Hourly time slots.

The studio rates are $40 per hour. This rate is for the studio and not per person.

Recommended times:

  • For 9 holes
      • 2 golfers – 60 minutes if you’re speedy
      • 3-4 golfers – 2 hours
  • For 18 holes
          • 2 golfers – 2 hours
          • 3-4 golfers – 3 hours
